We have tried to follow your advice and things have been going well with our dog, with us too. We did not find the recommended brands of food to replace Purina but we found what we hope is a good one. It is called Premium Edge. It claims to be made from fresh chicken without any by-products, wheat, soy or ground corn. Our dog loves it. Instead of dragging feeding through the day he now eats all of his daily ration as soon as we give it to him in the morning. We are even wondering whether we should give him more than the recommended amount. We were looking for a “meaty” canned dog food to use as a special supplement now and then even though we were not sure whether or not that would be a good idea. We gave up on that idea because every label we read. Seemed to begin with “wheat” and list lots of non-meat ingredients. .Is there such a thing as a good quality canned dog food available in the U.S. or are we better off avoiding canned foods.

We got two Kong toys and they worked like magic. He loves them and the goodies inside them.. He now even plays “fetch” with us even though he does actually bring the you to our hands, he brings it somewhere close to us and is ready to fetch again immediately after receiving his treat.

The silent whistle is doing what we hoped it would do, communicating with him quietly from a long distance. There is one situation where it does not work well. There is a large brush pile that apparently has interesting inhabitants. When he is nosed into that brush pile with his tail wagging happily he does not respond to the whistle properly.

So things are going pretty well and we have been very pleased with all of the help that you have given us. Thank you very much.
