:...it's great that all seems to be going well. As for your dog not responding when you try to call him from the tall brush- you answered why that doesn't work yourself- there are too many good things in there for him! As for your question about canned food, I don't use it. You are paying for a lot of water. If you still want to try a "canned" option, try one of the pre-packaged BARF or Raw diets. No wheat in those. Good suppliment to the diet. I know- some people would say mixing the two is wrong, but in my opinion one has to do what works for them. Sounds like you guys are doing great. Keep up the good work!
I couldn't agree more! Good for you! Also, I keep Wellness canned dog food on hand for emergencies (like I forgot to thaw the hamburg! LOL). It's rather pricey, but if you don't use it all the time and you only have 1 dog (I have 3) then it's not bad. However, I agree with Chelle- even better for our dog (and much cheaper!) is some raw meat. We get ground turkey in a tube (like Jimmy Dean sausage meat) for $1/lb. Likewise we get hamburg prepackaged in 5 lb. pkgs. for about $5. You could cut up those pkgs. in sizes for 1 feeding and just take one out of the freezer when you decide to feed it. The raw is much more nutritious, cheaper, and wihout preservatives or additives. That would prbably be your best bet--- and your dog will thank you for it! Congratulations on being good, responsible, dog humans! Keep us posted!
