Our lab is about a year old. The food we are feeding him now is "adult dog formula." I understand and agree that the manufacturer is mainly trying to sell dog food. But how do I apply that fact to the suggested amounts for feeding? If the manufacturer is trying to push as much product as possible, it would seem that the suggested amount would be as large as possible. If anything we wonder if less than three cups a day is enough food for a young adult dog? What do you think?

I am glad that you mentioned possible vomiting. I fed him some cooked string beans last week. He seemed to like them but an hour later everything came back up. That made me a bit cautious about changing his diet. We will do as you suggest about the meat and start by adding just one tablespoon mixed with his dry food. Thank you for your help.

Curt
