I had a conversation with the vet the other day about Ft. Dodge's new WNV vaccine. I guess the reps are really after him to start giving it to all his horse clients (it's an equine vaccine) -- three shots, 3 weeks apart, at $30 a pop. We're in CA and at the time there weren't any cases in even in the states close to us. (So far no animals have shown signs of the disease here.)
Turns out that the vaccine has only limited approval -- only six months of safety studies and *no* efficacy studies. Yeah, right, I want to shoot that into my healthy animal.
