:That is a frightening statement. Here's a fact. Unvaccinated horses are dying of West Nile Virus. Vaccinated horses do not.
I don't recognize that as a fact -- prove it to me in a study that we can't poke holes in, and then prove to me that the vaccine is safe over the longterm.
:You are blasting the manufacturers and the process because the vaccination program has been made available before an entire regimen of efficacy has not been given?
For those of us that care about the health of our animals, I see a healthy attitude here.....before anyone puts something in my animal, I want it proven safe. And if there is a risk, I want it proven effective so I can weigh risk to benefit rather than blindly using a potential toxin. Why is that such a difficult concept?
:Would you say the same of the FIV vaccine in cats that has recently become available, despite the fact that it will save lives?
Yes.
:Would you say the same of an HIV vaccine?
Oh, absolutely.
:Me thinks your priorities are a bit skewed, Ms. Keith.
I think that there are too few like Ms. Keith -- we need more people that are actually *advocates* for our animals -- advocates that use knowledge properly.
:That's a shameful chastisement on the disease prevention community.
Heh, heh, but none of us start out that way -- they have earned it with their track record and the damage that they have caused.
:You would prefer animals to die?
Now that's just plain silly. Clearly you don't know who you are addressing. Anyone with half a brain, even if they totally disagreed with Ms. Keith would know the answer to that.
There are so many of us out here that have animals that have been made very ill by improper vaccination, and unfortunately that population is growing. It's nice to have a forum like this where we can discuss these issues without, for the most part, getting dragged down with all the traditional allopathic crap that we have been fighting for years.
