Bordatella: It depends on your dogs' lifestyle. If they are around other dogs a lot, if you work around animals, if you take them to dog parks, etc, it is a good idea to get it. If you do decide to get the vaccination, get it every six months. It only lasts for approximately 6 months, and there's no point in the dog only having immunity for 1/2 the year. Remember that Bordatella only vaccinates for two strains of "Kennel Cough". There are other types out there that they can get. If you have dogs that hang around the house and aren't around other dogs, then it's probably unnecessary.
Distemper: I would have the vaccine given to my dogs. There are several species of animals that carry distemper. Unlike Kennel Cough, which is an annoyance but non-fatal, distemper has a pretty high mortality rate. IMO, it's better not to take the chance. My boys were exposed once and knowing that they were vaccinated saved a lot of heartache and wondering.
