It depends on your situation. I work in a vet clinic. I am around dogs of unknown vaccination history. My dogs are exposed to fomites (me) and occasionally other dogs. We are very active. We hike and though we are on leash at all times, there is plenty of distemper in this area that I want to make sure my pack is covered. Titers are an option, but knowing that the vaccine is in them... two of my dogs had saliva to saliva contact with a dog that later tested positive for distemper. NOT COOL. Knowing they were vaccinated saved us a lot of heartache. In my situation, vaccinating aggressively makes sense. Others may not choose the same protocol. I use the same vaccines and the same time schedule that my vet uses on her own dogs, and she knows her stuff. As for the bordatella, a dog's immune system may or may not protect it. I KNOW the vaccine works for my pack. I'm going to take the more sure thing. Nothing, not vaccines, not an immune system, not drug, herbal, or whatever treatments are going to be 100% failsafe. I bring home a lot of crud to my pack. In my case, it is best that they are vaccinated on a set schedule, so that if nothing else, if they do come down with a set of symptoms, it's that much more I can rule out.
