Have you considered a Corgi? They are smart, good with kids, short haired and failry small. They have great temperaments too.

:My husband and I are trying to decide what type of dog is best for us. We live in a condo and both work full-time (though I can work from home occasionally). He wants a dog with short hair, and I want a dog with floppy ears (sorry, but I like floppy ears). We would also like a dog that is good with children and other dogs.
