Puppy sleeping in our bedroom

We have a 15 week yellow lab. She is a great puppy. She has to stay in her crate for a bit during the day so we want to give her the freedom to sleep in our room at night. The first night she was great! The next day, unrelated to sleeping in our room, she had an accident in the house. (She had not had one in the 10 days prior). She had the accident because she was excited and didn't go to the door to tell us she had to go out. Yes, she usually goes to the door to say "hey I have to go out". That night when she got up to chew her chew toy, I got nervous and took her outside. She piddled a bit but not too much. Ever since when she gets up to "play" or chew her chew toy eventually I get nervous and take her outside. She doesn't go very much at all. I am wondering if he is going just because she went outside. Am I creating a bad habit? Should I just let her chew her chew toy and leave her be? Will she eventually learn that it is time for us all to sleep? I appriciate any help. My husband wonders if we should put her back in her crate at night. I don't like that idea since she is in it for 2 times at 4 hours each when we work. On the weekends, she is hardly in the crate.
Any help is appreciated.
