It is safer for her to be in the crate at nite. Too many things in the house a baby can get into and hurt herself. How long are you home with her(minus the sleeping hours?)
You might look into puppy day care for a few hours each day, to help cut down on the amount of time she's in the crate during the day, or find a friend who stays at home who has a young dog she can play with
